Neba C. Tony

B. Tech (Civil) from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala and M. Plan (Transport Planning) from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. Prior to joining IIT, Neeba worked as an Assistant Professor-cum-Transport Planner at the College of Traffic Management (CTM-IRTE), Faridabad, Delhi-NCR for 1.5 years.

Neba. C. Tony (Entry no: 2019TRZ8726),is a Ph.D. research scholar in Transportation Research and Injury Prevention Centre (TRIPC), IIT-D. She is working under the supervision of Prof. Geetam Tiwari, Dr. Manoj M, and Prof. Niladri Chatterjee. Her research topic is the “Influence of built environment on a pedestrian’s safety perception, travel behaviour and walkability for Indian conditions”. The relationship between built environment variables and walking has been subjected to study for more than thirty years in various fields of science such as geography, psychology, public health, transportation and urban planning. The research aims to determine the relationship between built environment characteristics, pedestrian trip purpose and safety perception and to develop an index to rank walkability for Indian conditions
